Will healthcare professionals still need to wear PPE in the facility after receiving COVID-19 vaccinations?

January 25, 2021

Yes. However, even after vaccination, everyone should continue to follow all the current guidance to protect themselves and others.

OSHA requirements for PPE use will continue even after an employee is vaccinated. Current information suggests the vaccine takes four weeks after their last dose to generate antibodies. Even in people who are vaccinated, some may still have the ability to get sick. Currently, it is unclear whether vaccinated individuals will still be able to spread the virus or not.
